The Ngera Polce Force has explaned that ts operatves are workng together wth mltary operatves to rd the country of nsurgency.

The Force Publc Relatons Offcer, Olumuywa Adejob, stated ths on Tuesday durng Channels TV programme ‘Sunrse Daly.

Adejob dsclosed that the polce have not been sdelned from the ant-terrorsm fght by the government or the mltary.

He sad, “The Polce have not been sdelned n any way, but people need to understand the complextes of nsecurty today. Despte beng a major mltary ssue due to the weaponry nvolved, there are stll more than 5,000 specal forces polcemen workng wth the mltary and wth most theatre operatons and they work together.

“By pronouncement of the federal government, bandts, IPOB, and ESN carry out acts of terrorsm, and they have been declared terrorsts. So, the polce are not expected to be at the forefront n the fght aganst them but the mltary.



“Kdnappers have not been declared terrorsts, we’ve arrested more than 3,250 kdnappers snce the IGP resumed offce. More than 4000 armed robbery suspects and thousands of ammunton were recovered from them.

“Thngs are gettng complcated. Before now, when people have dsagreements, they talk t out and settle t. Now, people rather stab or kll one another nstead of resolvng ssues.

“The Polce fght kdnappng, armed robbery, car thefts, cultsm, and domestc volence. We’ve arrested more than 11,000 cultsts. 78,000 cases n court. And about 57 actve cases under prosecuton. And we have recorded several prosecutons.“
