American rock star Sophia Urista apologized for urinating on a fan during a performance via an Instagram post on Tuesday 16 November.

Brass Against lead singer Sophia Urista left fans disgusted when she urinated on a fan’s face during a performance. The incident took place at Welcome to Rockville festival at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.

Sophia is seen pulling down her pants, getting into a squatting position and urinating on the male fan’s face in a video that went viral on Twitter.

The act that has been labelled “disgusting” on Twitter led to the band issuing an apology. The band members stated that this was not something they expected Sophia to do during a performance.

“We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away. That’s not something the rest of us expected, and it’s not something you’ll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona,” wrote Brass Against on Twitter.

Following the band’s apology Sophia issued an apology of her own. She admitted to taking things too far that night.

“I have always pushed the limits in music and on stage. That night, I pushed the limits too far,” wrote Sophia.

She apologised for the incident stating that she loves her family, band and fans. Sophia acknowledged that many were hurt and offended by what she did.

“I love my family, the band, and the fans more than anything and I know that some were hurt or offended by what I did,” she continued.

She went on to insist that she is not a shock artist.

“I apologize to them and want them to know that I didn’t mean to hurt them, I am not a shock artist. I always want to put the music first, I’m grateful for all of your continued love and support,” she added.
