“But Why” – Igbo Lady Cries Out bitterly as parents cancels marriage plans with her Yoruba fiancé [Video]

An Igbo lady has fall into inter-tribal marriage problem as her parents cancelled relationship with her Yoruba fiancé.

Ethnic groups in multicultural Nigeria get on well together, but sometimes relations between cultures in Nigeria are somewhat challenging. The story of the Igbo lady by one of her male friends, Iyke Nwabuko, and it revealed that the incident happened in Lagos state.

He said that the Igbo girl cried bitterly to him over the phone because her parents called off the marriage plans with her boyfriend she has been eagerly waiting for.

According to Nwabuko, her family barred the Yoruba man from coming for the introductory rights which had earlier been agreed upon.

He said the heartbroken lady has been crying about the development as if someone close to her died in a fatal accident.

He wrote, “This Lagos violence is something o, an igbo girl was crying on phone that her parents are saying they don’t want to see the Yoruba guy that was supose to come visiting, for the traditional knocking ceremony.”

“Babe has cried her eyes out. wahala de o! Babe de cry like person wey lose person for accident o”.

“So this is what igbos have been going through for decades. I just got a firsthand dosage of it and i don’t blame any igbo family that wants their children to marry only their tribe, ” @uti_no_mas said on Twitter.

@Adaugonwanne said, “Honestly last week I would condemned their action but right now I think she should listen to her parents”.

@BeingRe01067588 said, “I wouldn’t blame such parents given our present situation. I used to be very liberal minded on issues of tribe. This whole election matter is an eye opener to people you felt had open minds. There are trying to protect their child and future grand children.”
