The Drector, Muslm Rghts Concern, MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akntola, has reacted to the conduct of Muslm BBNaja season 7 housemate, Khald, on the realty show.
Vdeos capturng the ntmate moments between the 22-year-old level-up housemate, whose real name s Ismal Ahalu, and hs n-house lover, Danella, have rased eyebrows onlne.
Socal meda users questoned hs fath, especally after he told hs love nterest that ther relatonshp could end f she doesn’t qut drnkng, as t’s aganst hs relgon.
Akntola, n an ntervew wth Vanguard, reactng to Khald’s actons n the house, sad he cannot make any Shar’a pronouncement on Khald.
Akntola, who descrbed the realty show as satanc, sad MURIC has repeatedly called on the federal government to ban the show.
“I have no comment concernng Khald. Whatever anybody s dong n BBNaja s haram, BBNaja tself; the whole of t. So, t’s not about the aspect of alcohol or whatever. I was part of a group that went to court to stop BBNaja, but the system contnues to encourage BBNaja, some of our people n the meda, and journalsts contnue to encourage them because there’s money there.
“Ngera worshps money and then we are destroyng our youths, who are watchng ths show and there are some rresponsble parents, too, who are watchng and encouragng ther chldren to watch t. The youth, whether a young man or an old man who goes to partcpate n BBNaja should be condemned. I wll not pck any ndvdual for partcular crtcsm.
“Why wll I pronounce a Sharah judgment on them? If t s n Oyo, Lagos or Enugu, they are not Shar’a complant states. I can not make a Shar’a pronouncement on them. We can not brng Shar’a nto BBNaja. I can not make any Shar’a pronouncement n a non-Shar’a ssue, n a non-Shar’a state.
“Whatever s bult on nothng s nothng. Whatever s bult of haram s haram. We condemn BBNaja and whatever t produces, whatever s the product that comes out of t remans condemnable whether they are Muslms or Chrstans, we condemn every acton that takes place n BBNaja and the government should ban t, but the government s not lstenng to what we are sayng”.
