Award-Winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun professionally known as Wizkid has once again taken to social media to drag Nigerian rappers as he continues stand by his statement about rap being dead and boring.
Intel Region had earlier reported that Wizkid, a father of four during an interview with 10 magazine berated Nigerian rappers as he noted that most of them rap on the same beats, dished out the same style among others as there is no development. He added that Afrobeats is the real thing now.
In his words; “I don’t listen to rap – that shit is boring to me. It’s d£ad now, it’s tired. These guys do the same shit, rap on the same beats and the same flows.”
Wizkid controversial statement generated several reactions among rappers, while some throw shades at the Grammy award winner, others say that they understand rap is not the sought after music genre but it’s not dead.
Following the dragging and other mixed response from Nigerian rappers, Wizkid via his official Snapchat account goes harder on Nigerian rappers as he claimed that they are not real rappers and addressed them as broke boys.
The “Essence” crooner in the post sarcastically slammed Nigerian rappers as he further advised them to keep on sending him videos maybe he could be able to help them and change their mothers life.
However, Wizkid reply further triggered reactions among rappers who went further to insult the singer as they noted what he posted didn’t make any sense and further tagged him as being proud.
While many taught Wizkid won’t talk anymore, the singer who recently releases his 5th studio album, More Love Less Ego, subscribed to more violence as he takes another swipe at Nigerian rappers.
Wizkid via his Snapchat account wrote; “48hrs still no rap song? Lol y’all dumb fu*cks!” then accompanied it with a laughing emoji.
